Tiny houses are becoming more popular in the Bay Area as solutions to the growing housing crisis and the effects of climate change. Renee McLaughlin, CEO of TinyFest said, “People are learning that these tiny homes can be a viable option.” McLaughlin’s company was inspired by her experience living temporarily without power during Hurricane Irma when she realized how quickly life essentials such as water storage needs came into play.
TinyFest California is a weekend festival that is all about celebrating tiny living. Here, you’ll be able to tour around a variety of different types of tiny homes, including homes on wheels, vehicle conversions, container homes, ADUs/ backyard cottages, and more. Plus, you’ll be able to hear from various experts about all things tiny living.
This event at Alameda County Fairgrounds showcases what it’s like living inside small homes and how it can be the future of attainable housing.

At the festival, visitors were able to meet builders and advocates who are living tiny every day. We at ADU.Works were one of the few ADU builders in the event who was able to participate. Highlighting our low-cost, no-compromise ADUs, homeowners were quick to inquire for more information and was excited to book a visit in our showroom which was relatively near the area.

“Having booked several site visits and being able to accommodate over 200 booth visitors, we couldn’t be more grateful,” said Kalhiel Dillard, Sales Head of ADU.Works.
“Most of the homeowners we met were determined to look for low-cost solutions. With our 45-Day Build Process and three ADU models in our Maverick Series, homeowners were ensured that we can build ADUs in a variety of property sizes and in a faster timeline than traditional ADU builders,” KD added.
Kevin Htet, the company’s project coordinator and permits technician was also present at the event too. Together with his colleague, Kalhiel, they were able to answer quick questions regarding jurisdiction regulations in the county of Alameda.
If you want to see our build materials physically or know more about our build process, please don’t hesitate to book a free showroom visit with us or give us a quick call through our number +1 (650) 227-4810. We would be happy to help you get started on this exciting project!
