Site Plan Lite Created to Streamline Permitting for ADUs
City officials provided an update to the Planning Commission on their efforts to simplify the process of building accessory dwelling units (ADUs) and streamline permitting for small multifamily developments. These changes were initiated by City Council in the hope of increasing housing supply, especially for “missing middle” housing. However, the complexity of the proposed Land Development Code updates and the sheer volume of changes are causing delays, leading staffers to propose implementing the site plan lite in multiple phases and seeking further guidance from Council on ADUs.
